Team La Tarte Flambee
This event is particularly important for La tarte flambée Murray Hill (153 E 33rd Street – 917-261-2070).
We are proud to announce our membership to the fraternity of the authentic Flammekueche!
The French name is : La confrérie du véritable Flammekueche
As a reminder, the “Flammekueche” is the Alsatian authentic word for “Tarte flambée”, which is a traditional dish from Alsace, and also the specialty of the restaurant.
The fraternity, created in 1979, takes action in supporting the authentic Flammekueche lovers, and promotes the Alsatian traditional gastronomy.
We completed successfully the requirements of the fraternity : make a traditional Flammekueche, with homemade dough, homemade cream recipe, and of course, cooked in a wood burning oven!
After a mystery visit from one of their members and a meticulous savoring, the fraternity welcomed La tarte flambée amongst the most renowned chefs and restaurants.
This makes us the first restaurant across the ocean to be a member of the fraternity.
Come and taste now our delicious tarte flambées!
A thin and crispy bread dough, creme fraiche, onions and bacon on top, this is the traditional tarte.
Also try :
Gratinée : creme fraiche, onions and bacon, topped with gruyere cheese
Biquette : creme fraiche, onions and bacon, deliciously combined with goat cheese and honey
Munster : creme fraiche, onions and bacon, topped with Alsatian authentic munster, a strong and tasteful cheese
Saumon : creme fraiche, onions and diced fresh salmon, meltingly soft leeks
Jardin : creme fraiche, diced fresh tomato, caramelized onions, meltingly soft leeks and mushrooms for a vegetarian option
Méditerranéene : creme fraiche, onions, diced marinated lamb chops, gruyere cheese and the most delicious herb sauce
And our sweet tartes : chocolat-fraise, banana split, S’mores…

Vocalist VALENTINE BIOLLAY is a unique performer whose repertoire includes such varied genres as straight-ahead jazz, French cabaret, klezmer, spirituals and classical music. Her international career has brought her acclaim in France, Switzerland, Morroco, Canada, and especially in her current city of residence, New York City. Valentine performs with a variety of top-shelf musicians who comprise the French-jazz group, Gavroche Jazz Band.
GAVROCHE JAZZ BAND brings the streets of Paris of the early 20th century to New York City. Combining Valentine’s expressive voice with the band’s infectiously rhythmic and melodious playing, Gavroche Jazz Band adds its own twist to the stylings of Edith Piaf, Mistinguette, Damia, Charles Trenet, Yves Montand and many others. Valentine was the resident performer of Fete Paradiso, the Parisian festival of vintage carnival rides and carousels on Governors Island. She can be heard regularly, performing in restaurants and venues around the New York City area.
